WordPress Mobile App for iOS and Android

Have you ever had a great blog post or an idea for an article for your website but forgot what it was by the time you returned to your computer?

WordPress for iOS and Android lets you write posts, upload photos, edit pages, and manage comments on your blog from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. With support for both self-hosted WordPress (3.6 or higher) and WordPress.com, users of all experience levels can get going in seconds.

Download WordPress Mobile App

You can download the mobile app from iTunes and Google Play.

How-to Sign into a Self-Hosted WordPress Site

After you have downloaded and installed the Mobile App for WordPress, you can instantly sign in using your WordPress.com account details. However for those of us who have a self-hosted WordPress site, here is how you can still login and use the mobile app.

  1. Tap Self-Hosted Site located at the bottom of the screen.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will have access to your websites posts, visitors comments and the mobile apps settings page where you can adjust push notifications etc. You can even upload images from your phone or tablet allowing you completely update and work on your site remotely whilst on the go.

Support for WordPress Mobile

If you experience any difficulties using the app or have issues logging in you can visit the official WordPress Apps Support page. The only issue we at Mastering IT experienced ourselves was that we needed our website host to allow access to the xmlrpc.php file located in the root of your WordPress website.
